NOVA R606 Dual Air Ventilation System

NOVA R606 helmet has the exact air ventilation features as EVO RS 959 helmet.

• central air diffuser
• dual rear exhaust vents

There is a semi transparent central air diffuser mounted at the top center. The difference between NOVA R606 helmet open / close mechanism for the dual rear exhaust vents is that it has a slide out instead of EVO RS 959 helmet's push button mechanism. NOVA R606 helmet also has dual rear exhaust vents at the end of each channel that runs along the top of the helmet but without cut out vents like those in EVO RS 959 helmet.

NOVA R606 Motorcycle Helmet Visor

NOVA R606 helmet has a wide visor view. The sides of the visor opening are way past the boundaries of the motorcycle rider's peripheral vision when looking straight ahead. Advantage of wearing a open-face helmet is the unlimited forward visibility provided by the design.

Better peripheral vision means more safety for the rider. Unlike EVO RS 959 helmet that has narrower visor openings which means the rider have to turn his head much farther to see oncoming traffic.

NOVA R606 Visor Rotation Mechanism

NOVA R606 helmet visor rotation mechanism are still very much old school. Side plates that has been outfitted with screws is like a nightmare straight from the past.

This is a major letdown when the fact that all new motorcycle helmets are equipped without side plates. It is truly baffling to think that NOVA manufacturer transplant this feature straight from the past. Visor fitted with screws on the side pods coming from a brand that stands for quality is clearly shortchanging its loyal fans. Low cost production should not be an excuse for a manufacturer with 30 years of experience.

Why visor side plates without screws are better?

NOVA R606 helmet face shield is held with friction via the screws on the side pods. Be forewarned that after prolonged periods of use, the screws will become loose and you have to keep the face shield from dropping when you want it to be raised. When you raised or lowered the visor, it is flimsy unlike those that are equipped without screws.

Advantages of visor side plates without screws

Helmet visor without screws has a firm feel and the channel holders on either side do a good job at keeping the shield firm and secured when it's raised or lowered. It has also four detents. Which means when you move the visor up or down, it will stay in the fixed four position: fully opened, 3/4 opened, 1/4 opened and fully closed.

NOVA R606 Shell Construction

NOVA R606 helmet is made of ABS shell construction not fiberglass-based. However since it has passed stringent Singapore Safety Standards SS 9: 1992 and also DOT approved, it should provide the same level of protection as those made of fiberglass composite material.

NOVA R606 Helmet Safety Standard

NOVA R606 helmet meets DOT safety standards and has attained the "PSB TEST" label which is regulated by Singapore Traffic Police.

Although motorcycle helmets bearing official safety approvals offer a reasonable protection to the motorcyclist, it does not mean that by wearing a PSB approved helmet will protect you from all risks and injuries. No motorcycle helmet can guarantee complete safety and protect the rider from all possible impacts, so please ride safely.

NOVA R606 Helmet Lining

NOVA R606 motorcycle helmet lining is elementary with one basic color and the cushion padding is extra thick and comfortable. When you are wearing NOVA helmet, the inner cheek pads makes you feel like as though you are sleeping on king-sized memory plush pillow.

NOVA R606 motorcycle helmet lining consists of separate pieces including the cheek pads and lining which are removable and washable. There are mesh lining wrapping on either side of the cushion and at the top that keeps your head cool and comfortable.

The chin strap uses an effective double D-ring closure system and there's a velcro provided to secure the loose end of the strap when riding.  Nevertheless overall quality of the lining pales in comparsion with EVO RS 959.
