SPINO Retro "Classic" with in-built Sun Visor

SPINO Retro Classic motorcycle helmet has a huge clear visor that provides a very wide and high view of the road.  It is definitely more comfortable and safer when riding with a nearly unobstructed view. The rubberized wheel on the left-hand side rotates the tinted visor up and down. The wide clear visor has two detents and it feels relatively sturdy.  The visor can be flipped up and it stays in place. There is a solid lever behind the left sidepod.

Advantages of built-in Sun Visor

Some of us may have the experience of riding along highway and the glaring sun ray blinded you for a few seconds and this is extremely dangerous. With the built-in sunvisor, the rider can conveniently pull down the sun visor when face with bright sunshine.  As a motorcyclist, we do not have the luxury of a sun shade that can be conveniently pull down by a car driver. Other benefits include:

• do not need tinted visors (it is illegal to wear them in Singapore)
• do not need cumbersome sunglasses (taking them on/off is tiresome)
• block sun glare with a flick of your finger
• makes you look cool like a fighter pilot

For those who are wearing spectacles, you can be assured that the sun visor does not get in the way of your glasses when it is being pulled down.

SPINO Retro "Classic" Helmet Visor Rotation Mechanism

SPINO Retro Classic motorcycle helmet incorporates side plates without screws. Although the side knob is not as refined as HYPER Classic helmet, it fufill its basic function of hiding the ugly visor rotation mechanism. Just behind the left side knob lies the built-in sunvisor lever. See pictures below. To activate the sun visor, you push the lever upwards and it stays there. To pull up the sun visor, you can use your thumb to push the lever downwards.

Why is the lever at the left side? The reason is because when you want to pull down the sunvisor while you are riding, your left hand which is not controlling the fuel is free to do so.

SPINO Retro "Classic" Helmet Front Air Vents

By applying the retro design philosophy, EVO designers include two frontal air intake vents that cleverly allow airflow inside without obstructing its smooth outline. Unlike the modern motorcycle racer helmet version with huge exaggerated air ventilation intakes and exhaust vents that scream for attention. The frontal air intake vents have dimples so that you can easily slide the "open/close" shutter.  See picture below.

SPINO Retro Classic helmet has also dual rear air exhaust vents that are cleverly molded into the helmet's contour. You can also slide the open/close the shutters easily. As you look closely, the contour outline is a bit protruded at the back to streamline the airflowing.

SPINO Retro Classic helmet has the ABS shell construction. This is considered the best material for performing a motorcycle-helmet shell's main job - spreading and dissipating impact energy through strength, structural integrity and impact-flexibility.

SPINO Retro "Classic" Helmet Safety Standard

SPINO Retro Classic motorcycle helmet has passed stringent Singapore Safety Standards SS 9: 1992 and attained the "PSB TEST" label. To become PSB Approved which is under Singapore Traffic Police supervision, every batch of motorcycle helmets imported into Singapore are batch tested. This greatly increase the cost but ensure motorcycle helmets imported are of certain quality standards.

SPINO Retro Classic helmet has been labeled as meeting U.S.A DOT standard- DOT approved. It does conform to the European Commission standard ECE 22.05 standard though, so it's legal for use by European motorbike riders.

SPINO Retro "Classic" Helmet Inner Lining

SPINO Retro Classic motorcycle helmet interior consists of separate pieces including the cheek pads and lining.  SPINO helmet cheekpads are quite thick with tiny ventilated holes to transfer the heat away from your ear if you look closely at the picture below.

SPINO Retro Classic motorcycle helmet liner material is very comfortable, which is removable and washable. 

Ventilated inner linings allow moisture and heat to transfer from your head into the airflow inside the helmet. This leaves your head dry and cool during your ride. The chin strap uses the simple yet effective double D-ring closure system.
